After careers as an Engineer Officer in the Royal Air Force and a Product Management executive in the high tech companies of Silicon Valley, California I'm now working on my real passion...Teaching photography and traveling the world to photograph amazing places and wildlife. Even after visiting over 90 countries the list of places to see and adventures to experience is still growing.
I am passionate about all things natural striving to capture and share what I see through my photography. My philosophy in photographing wildlife is to capture their behaviors so that the viewer is transported into their world and understands more than just a visual representation of the animal. My goal is to educate the viewer but also to make them smile or gasp in amazement with what you can see in the world we all live in and share with these amazing species.
You can follow my adventures on social media:
My photographs have appeared in books, magazines and newspapers around the world including BBC 'The Hunt', The Sunday Times magazine, Forbes & The Guardian
They have also been recognized with awards, most recently:
North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) 2018 Showcase runner-up
Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018 Highly Commended
I have shared a portion of my portfolio on this site so if you are looking for something a little different from what’s on the site or if you'd like some photography instruction feel free to contact me. I live in the San Francisco bay area so can provide 1-1 instruction in that area.
I also work on expedition ships for a portion of the year teaching photography, driving zodiacs and generally guiding. Through 2019 I have trips planned to:
Papua New Guinea
Antarctica (including The Falkland Islands & South Georgia)
South & Central America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras)
South Pacific (Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands & French Polynesia)
